Welcome aboard, I am Skipper George, I am Greek, born and living in Athens and I am blessed to have a lovely daughter and two wonderfull grandsons. In addition to my mother language (Greek), I speak fluently English and good Italian. I am very much experienced, having participated in regattas ("laser", "470", "offshore") and being Skipper on both monohulls and catamarans too. My Sailing Diploma is by H.O.R.C. (Hellenic Offshore Racing Club) and I am member of PORTOLANOS (Hellenic Professional Yacht Skippers and Crew Association). I am also graduated from "Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences" and "School of Law of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens" too. During winter time, I am the director of "my TENNIS TIME" Academy, providing inegrated tennis programs for elite tennis players (Stefanos Tsitsipas, Despina Papamichail etc) and exclusive VIP Programs for VIPs and Celebrities. My hobbies are water and snow skiing. I like very much transferring my knowledges to anyone wishing to learn, especially children.
GENERAL INFORMATION: During your sailing holydays exclusive services will be offered to you, while the highest safety precautions will be followed for both passengers and crew too! Your Skipper succesfully cooperates for many years with prime Greek sailing agencies, such as, VERNICOS YACHTS, EVER SAILS, HDM Sailing, ARGOLIS Yachting, ATHENIAN Yachts, RIGINOS YACHTS and private yacht owners too. Being active in this field of business for over 25 years has given me the experience to successfully handle all the needs of demanding clients including international VIPs and Celebrities!
Skipper on duty: • Your Skipper will be available for You for sailing daily, 7/week, from 08:00 to 21:00. Do not hesitate to ask for my help in any strange/emergency situation, anytime 24/7! • Always ask Your Skipper's help: Your Skipper knows all spots and safe passages and will do his best, so that You will enjoy perfect holydays, while being safe. Your Skipper will help You to take the right decisions to maximize Your holydays pleasure, while not only being but feeling safe too!
Planning Your holydays: • Your Skipper will provide You with all useful information needed to plan your holydays (weather forecast, distances, trip duration, safe beaches to stay overnight, ports, port/beaches facilities, restaurants, taverns, nightclubs, bars, sightseeing, must-visit spots, etc).
Enjoying Your holydays in safety: • Before the boat leaves the port, please report to Your Skipper any health problems that has to be aware of, if you don’t know swimming, if you get seasick, or anything else that you think that your skipper has to know about you in general. • In case there are children on the boat, You must follow all your Skipper’s special instructions for their safety on board! • Your Skipper will demonstrate You (before the departure of the boat) everything on the boat that You have to be aware of. • For Your safety, You are not to use any of the boat’s instruments, mechanical or electronics. • Your Skipper follows all Your Yacht Charter Contract's safety rules, ie: the boat is not to sail during the night, and must be in a safe port or bay before sunset*, also, the boat is not to sail when the wind force is more than 6 Beaufort scale, etc. * please mention that due to small Greek ports, You are advised to be in a port earlier than 15:00 in order to find a spot for docking. • For Your safety and pleasure, it is recommended not to sail continuously for more than 6 hours in one day (your skipper must be 100% in top condition and able to handle anytime whatever unhappy situation occurs…). • For Your safety and pleasure, boat is not to sail with less than 150l of petrol and 400l of water.
Participating in sailing: • Your Skipper needs Your help while anchoring (to drop and pick the anchor up) in a bay or port, to place the fenders -as instructed- when docking in a port, and throw and get back the boat lines ashore. Your Skipper will give You all useful information to help him with safety.
Under sails: • In order to enjoy sailing under sails, you have to help your Skipper to take the sails up, trim the sails during journey and pick them down too! Your Skipper will give You all these useful information on how to enjoy sailing Your boat under sails with safety!
Anchoring in a bay: • Ask Your Skipper which are the safe spots that the boat can stay on anchor in a bay for the night! • In case that You would like to have the boat anchored using two lines ashore too, You have to help your Skipper by providing these two lines from land to boat when anchoring and bring the lines back on boat when departing (Skipper can not leave tha boat). Your Skipper will give You all useful information to help him with safety. • Ask Your Skipper, when, how and under which circumstances You can use the boat’s dingy.
